Protect the form you downloaded

On this personal PC, Windows Backup shows Documents backed up to OneDrive with enough space. Downloads is not backed up. Registration-form.pdf is only in Downloads. Include it and check that the protected copy is readable.

Change choices to compare results, then check the requirements.

  • Include the actual file in the backed-up folder
  • Keep the original while checking
  • Verify the synced file’s contents
Lesson notes

Saving on the PC protects an edit from a normal restart. A checked copy elsewhere protects against losing that PC or drive.

  1. On a personal PC using a personal Microsoft account, open Windows Backup from Start. Check which folders are included and whether cloud space is available.
  2. Files outside those folders need attention too. Include the actual important file, wait for sync to finish, and check that the protected copy opens.
  3. For important files, keep another backup separate from the PC and test a recovery copy without overwriting the original. If you need help, describe the task, symptom and error; never share a password.

Windows Backup does not support work or school accounts in the same way. OneDrive sync can carry edits and deletions to other devices; a green status is not proof that every folder or a full system image is backed up.
