Lesson notes

Keep track of the website and file you intended to use.

  1. Type a known website address in the browser address bar. A tab is one open page; close an unwanted tab without closing your other work.
  2. In Edge, Ctrl+D saves the current page as a favorite. Ctrl+J opens Downloads so you can locate a downloaded file.
  3. Treat unexpected support warnings, payment demands and remote-access requests as suspicious. Close the page and use a separately trusted support contact if needed.

A favorite stores a link, not an offline file. A security warning is not something to bypass just to finish a download.

Microsoft help
