Use an installed app before searching for another download.
- Select Start and type an app name, such as Calculator. Choose the installed app result > Open.
- Use the taskbar or Alt+Tab to move between open apps. Switching is different from closing an app.
- If you need a new app, use Microsoft Store or the publisher’s official site. Check its name, publisher, price and permissions before installing.
An advertisement promising a required “PC cleaner” is not a reason to install it. On a school or work PC, follow its app-installation rules.
