The class website cannot hear you. Your headset works, and Windows already allows microphone access for your browser. Fix the remaining website and meeting controls.

The address matches the class meeting link you opened. This site wants to use your microphone for the call.

Lesson notes

Check the microphone path rather than turning up the speaker.

  1. Check the headset connection and its physical mute switch, the selected microphone, and the meeting’s mute button.
  2. Windows permission is under Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone; camera permission is under Camera. Desktop-app controls may apply to several apps together.
  3. A browser meeting also needs its website permission. Allow the expected meeting site when prompted; do not allow an unrelated site just because it asks.

If a work or school policy locks a setting, ask its support team. An organizer may also restrict who can unmute. Speaker volume changes what you hear, not what others hear.
